Can you tell me exactly how you got to The Secret Garden in Adelaide? (: - Anonymous
Oh, I would if I was the one that drove there haha! Beautiful place though, next time we’re in Adelaide we’ll be returning there for sure!
Mike and Duncan part ways with Statues
From our Facebook:
‘I regret to announce that as of last night Mike and Duncan have made the decision to part ways with the band, because of a variety of personal and career related reasons they both felt they weren’t able to meet the level of commitment needed. Scott and I are still great friends with them, and we wish them the best in the future.
Scott and I are now looking for a vocalist and drummer to help write the remainder of our album, record and get back into playing shows when he returns from tour with Voyager in late June.
I also would like to say thank you to any one who has supported us in our first two years as a band, it means the absolute world to us. - Matt’
It’s been a really difficult last four months for us, with myself and Matt wanting to push things a little further than I think Mike and Duncan had ever intended with this band. We never thought that people would be genuinely interested in what we do enough to motivate us beyond playing in Perth, but our plans are to go further now. Thank you to every single person who has supported the band, been to a show, bought a shirt, screamed up the front… I think if Duncan and Mike would want to say anything on behalf of the band, it’d be that. We all genuinely respect and love you guys.
But, we must move on, and for anyone that wants to try out, we are opening our doors.
Here’s to the future.
Scott
These have finally arrived, and we couldn’t be more stoked with how they’ve turned out! Designed by Cory Brandan of Norma Jean and printed on American Apparel shirts.
To thank everyone for being so patient, we’ve decided to drop our shirt prices to $15 plus postage for January, so if you’d like one, head to our BigCartel or come and say hello in February when we support La Dispute at HQ with Only Hope!

Our first show at HQ for about three months! We are so keen to play there again, and it’ll be the last show we do before we knuckle down and really get sorted with writing for our new EP. It’s taken us some time to get a sense of direction with the music, but we are starting to make progress now!
Hope to see you there tomorrow!

Hello!
It’s been a little while since we’ve updated this, so it’s no wonder there’s nothing happening on this here page. So here’s what we’ve been up to and what we’ll be up to in the near future:
- We have two tracks roughed out for this new release we’ve been talking about for 6 months. It’s coming, I promise. These songs are, well… You’ll know we wrote them, but hopefully you’ll also be surprised. Imagine the demo, but faster, with more stuff, and less melody to the point of being atonal. Take that as a fingerpainting of where we’re headed.
- We’ve been flitting about between a few different places to write and rehearse, so the going has been slow. We’re also all individually busy with our own little worlds, but that’s alright. It’s kind of like how you have to do your tax return eventually, but after you’ve muscled through it, smooth sailing awaits.
- We’ve got a couple of shows before the year’s out: The Den on the 19th of this month, November, and at HQ on December 4th. It’s unlikely we’ll be playing again before we record, but you never know. Neither do I.
- The recording this time will be handled entirely by Jay and Matt at Oracle Sound, with us self-producing. Expect 100 tracks of feedback.
- We’ll be back on the east coast in various places as soon as we have the record out. It’ll be a 10”, with some nice packaging and a few colourways, and released sans-label by us once again.
I think that’s about it. There’s no real release date penciled in as we don’t want to shackle ourselves with the writing as we’re all too busy and stressed out with work and life to turn the band into another chore. That’s no fun at all. When we have a better idea, I’ll let you know.
Until then, come and hang out at those shows and throw a chair or something!
Love,
Mike.
ProgPower USA XII - Amazing show, more photos to come when I get home!
Scott just hanging out in the US with Voyager. Looks ridiculous! I don’t know what we’d do if we ever played a stage that big, except probably climb that rigging.
Ridiculous!

Filmed and put together by Josh Hall (http://www.onedaywhen.tumblr.com), made from footage of two shows we played on September 2 & 3 in Adelaide.
We hope you enjoy!
Us playing at Animal House with Racoon City PD, Nebraska and Night Hag. Thanks to Stephen for the footage! This show was great; a small, packed room of 30 or so people just enjoying good music. I really envy the venues Adelaide has to play in. Incredible.
More secret garden hangs.
The Secret Garden, Adelaide.
This set is great. Views of the city at sunset, hanging out over a few drinks. Bliss.
Adelaide #3 w/Duncan being weird before the elevator opened and scaring the people who happened to be on the other side. I’m saving photo’s I consider ‘good’ to post after the shows/weekend.
